Frequently Asked Questions

Are my sessions confidential?

Yes, anything shared during session is confidential.

However, there are a few exceptions by law, where information may be released without your consent:

  • cases of suspected child abuse or neglect, or neglect or abuse of a vulnerable person

  • disclosed intent to do serious harm to self or others

  • a subpoena or summons served by the court

  • a medical emergency

What can I expect during my first session?

It is common for most people to feel a bit nervous going in to their first session. I will do my best to make you feel comfortable.

In the first session we will spend time going over confidentiality and consent for services. We will then explore what has led you to reach out for support. I will ask some questions about your life so that I can understand how I can best support you with your goals.

Can I bring my pet with me to therapy?

Friendly pets are welcome to come into session with us.

As I work in a pet-friendly space, I may not be the best fit for in person therapy with you if you have severe allergies to animals.

What is the duration of a session?

Sessions are 50 minutes in length. This leaves me 10 minute for record keeping at the end of session.

How many sessions will I need?

The amount of sessions needed are based upon multiple factors such as the issue(s) you are coming in with and your goals for therapy.

What is the fee per session?

Sessions are billed at a rate of $180 per hour.

Will my insurance provider cover services?

You will have to inquire with your specific insurance provider to see what coverage you have for psychological services.

Direct billing is available for some insurance providers.
